We’re Hiring Licensed and Rostered Therapists

(updated 7/26: hiring for June 2027 start date)
You’re a therapist who wants to do good work, be a whole person while you’re doing it, and be paid a sustainable living wage. You may be tired of working in a system that consistently underpays and overworks therapists. You’ve considered (or are already in) private practice, but the marketing, shouldering all the expenses and headache of running a practice, paying an extra 15% in self-employment taxes, and being all alone just is NOT for you.

You’d love to find a practice that pays you a generous wage and offers benefits that allow you to support yourself, your (chosen) family, and community. AND, you want to be a part of a rad team whom you look forward to seeing, who you learn from, and who share your approach to therapy as a tool for liberation. At the end of a hard clinical day, you want to be glowing because you know you did excellent work with clients and a team that you love.

This is precisely what we’re building here. And you don’t even need to live in Vermont to be a part of it! (Read below for how out-of-state licensed and non-licensed clinicians can legally practice here with us at Refuge).

We are currently a team of 10 (7 somatic therapists, 1 supervisor , 1 acupuncturist, and a Practice Manager).

Are you?

  1. integrating the body into the work that you do (or want to receive the financial support to deepen that training?)

  2. Queer and Trans-celebrating

  3. Neurodiversity-aligned

  4. an unabashed intersectional feminist

  5. grounded and have good boundaries? Read on!

How it works:

  • We will build you a full-time caseload of 23 weekly clients

  • You decide when you want to work with the exception of 9 appointment slots between 3-8PM/week and Thursday afternoons 1.00-2.30PM (EST) for staff-wide somatic trauma training

  • You meet for monthly supervision with our Somatics Supervision and Training Wonderperson, MawuLisa Adeyemo-Thomas! (Or if rostered, you’ll receive weekly supervision towards licensure)

  • After 6 consecutive weeks of seeing 23 clients/week, your health stipend kicks in and you start accruing toward your 3 paid weeks off/year and become eligible for 401(k) contributions with an employer match

Qualifications

*We especially encourage interested applicants with lived experience in a Body of Culture to apply.*
